Ontario’s Labour Minister Kevin Flynn says the province won’t back off on raising the minimum wage to $15 dollars an hour – despite a study that says that will put 185 thousand jobs at risk.
A coalition of business groups released an economic analysis today – which suggests that major provincial labour reforms will have dramatic consequences – including putting both current and potential new jobs at risk in the plan’s first two years.
The Keep Ontario Working Coalition also says a family’s costs for everyday consumer goods and services – will go up by thousands of dollars.
Flynn says in a statement that his ministry is reviewing the new findings.
