A Toronto neurosurgeon, charged with first-degree murder in the death of his wife, has been denied bail.
41-year old Dr. Mohammed Shamji showed little emotion as the ruling was handed down in a Toronto courtroom yesterday.
Shamji was was charged in December of last year with the death of his wife Dr. Elana Fric, a 40-year-old family physician at Scarborough Hospital, who was last seen
November 30th. Her battered body was found in a suitcase near the Humber River north of the city.
Shamji worked at Toronto Western Hospital and was a faculty member at the University of Toronto.
