The spotlight turns to internal Liberal Party politics when the bribery trial of the Premier’s campaign director opens in Sudbury today.  It will be further examined next week when two of former Premier Dalton McGuinty staffer face trial on charges of breach of trust.
Premier Kathleen Wynne is scheduled to testify in Sudbury next week at the trial of former Liberal Party CEO Pat Sorbara.
She is accused of offering a liberal candidate a job to step aside so a Liberal favourite could run in a 2015 by-election.
In Toronto,  the McGuinty staffers are accused of wiping computers clean just before Kathleen Wynne took over as Premier in 2013.
..
Observers suggest the trials are bound to hurt Wynne’s re-election changes, however, the head of Forum research says her standing is already at record lows.  Lorne Bozinoff says it could have been worse.  The trials could have occurred next spring, just ahead of the next provincial election.
