It’s widely reported this morning that the Ontario Government has decided to create a Cannabis Control Board to oversee sales of marijuana when it’s legalized next summer.
The government will reportedly open dozens of government run stores to sell the product and include the sale of pot on-line.
Initially there will be 40 storefront operations across the province which will increase over time. The areas where pot will be sold haven’t been defined as yet but are to be finalized after consultations with municipalities.
Ontario Attorney General Yasir Naqvi is to unveil further details later this morning. But apparently among the provisions is the closing of dispensaries and other illegal pot shops in the province.
