A Canadian author, whose book spent several weeks on the New York Times non-fiction best sellers list this summer, is on the long list for a US National Book Award.

Montreal-born, Toronto-educated Naomi Klein, got the nod  for “No is Not Enough: Resisting Trump’s Shock Politics and Winning the World We Need.”  Racial and social justice and political protest in the U.S. and abroad were themes in virtually every nominated book.

The Foundation has already released long lists for poetry and young people’s literature.. and will announce the fiction nominees today.

Winners will be revealed November 15th during a ceremony in Manhattan.
