The Kapuskasing-born, Oscar-winning Hollywood director James Cameron is shifting some of his attention away from making movies to processing organic peas.

The 63-year old behind the mega hit “Titanic” was in the heart of the Canadian Prairies yesterday pushing protein from plants and suggesting people eat less meat or dairy.

Cameron is investing in an organic pea-processing plant in a village southwest of Saskatoon, calling it a wise business move as eating habits change.  Once fully operational, the plant will become the largest organic pea protein facility in North America.

Cameron said he’s sympathetic to all farmers having grown up milking cows on his grandfather’s farm in Ontario.
