Heavy rain over the past week has raised concerns about flooding – in the Belleville, Picton and Napanee areas.
More than 70 millimetres of rain has come down in the Quinte Conservation watershed – and that’s prompted the Environmental Protection Agency to issue a flood outlook statement.
Water Resources Manager Christine McClure says the rain has caused an elevation in stream flows – and has saturated the ground.
McClure is warning that any heavy precipitation over the next few days could cause localized flooding of ditches, small creeks and low-lying areas.
