The art world is a buzz after a rare painting, purported to be by Renaissance master Leonardo da Vinci sold at auction in New York last night for a world record $450-million.
“Salvator Mundi” depicts Jesus Christ holding a crystal orb.  Its title means “Saviour of the World” in Italian and is only da Vinici left in private hands.
Its sale value easily surpassed the previous record of $179 million for a Picasso work of art.

At his request, he new owner remains anonymous
