For the first time since September 15, North Korea has launched a ballistic missile.
That one was an intermediate ballistic missile.
The Pentagon detected and tracked the one launched earlier today and believes it was an intercontinental ballistic missile, that travelled about 1,000 kilometres before landing in the Sea of Japan.

The U.S., Japan and South Korea have requested an emergency meeting of the U.N. Security Council which will be held Wednesday afternoon.
U.S. Defence Secretary Jim Mattis says North Korea is continuing to build missiles that can ”threaten everywhere in the world.”
