Fromer New York Metropolitan Opera conductor James Levine says the sexual misconduct allegations against him are “unfounded” despite a fourth accuser coming forward.
In a statement to the New York times, the storied maestro said he hopes to return to the Met once people come to understand the truth. adding anyone who knows him can attest that he has not lived his life as an oppressor or an aggressor.
The opera axed the famed conductor this past Sunday after the Times ran accounts from three men who accused Levine of sexually abusing them when they were teens.
