NFB LEGEND GRANT MUNRO DIES AT 94

The National Film Board has confirmed that famed Canadian filmmaker Grant Munro has died at the age of 94.

Munro was a native of Winnipeg who studied under Group of Seven artist Franklin Carmichael at the Ontario College of Art.  He was known for his animation skills and was involved in the NFB’s 1952 Oscar-winning, anti war film “Neighbours.”

Munro retired from the NFB in 1988 and was made an officer of the Order of Canada in 2008.
