Can-lit legend Margaret Atwood has made USA Today’s list of 10 people who “made the biggest impact” in entertainment this year.
The paper calls the 78-year old Toronto writer, the “author of a movement” for her 1985 dystopian novel “The Handmaid’s Tale”, which spawned this year’s hit TV adaptation

USA Today says the eight-time Emmy Award-winning drama, about a society that treats women as property of the state, became one of the most celebrated and important TV series of 2017.  It’s also nominated for 3 Golden Globe Awards.

And that’s not all!

Amazon says the “Handmaid’s Tale” was the number one read among fiction books this year.  Stephen King’s “It” came second.   Works by J.K. Rowling and “Game of Thrones” author George R.R. Martin dominated the rest of the list.
