A civil lawsuit has prompted three more women to come forward with allegations of inappropriate sexual behaviour against Paul Haggis, the London, Ontario native and Oscar winning filmmaker.
The lawsuit, filed last month, charges the screenwriter of ”Million Dollar Baby” and ”Crash” of raping a publicist.
The three new accusers claim the encounters with Haggis happened between 1996 and 2015.
One accuses him of rape while the other two allege he tried to assault them.
The 64-year-old Haggis denies all allegations and has filed a counter-complaint to the lawsuit, calling it a $9-million extortion attempt.
Lawyers for the plaintiff in the lawsuit have responded to the counter-complaint calling it a ”preposterous and transparent PR stunt that will not succeed”.
