COLD SNAP TO CONTINUE THROUGH THE WEEKEND

Two 24-hour warming centres opened last night in Toronto and will remain open as long as the current Extreme Cold Warning lasts likely through the weekend.
The centres are Metro Hall on John Street and Regent Park Community Centre on Shuter Street.
Toronto Mayor John Tory is still waiting for word on whether or not the city can use the Moss Park Armoury to help ease the unprecedented strain on the homeless shelter system.
Federal public safety minister Ralph Goodale says they are trying to find the most effective solution as quickly as possible.
Environment Canada predicts day time temperatures in the minus teens Friday and Saturday, with bitter wind chills as low as minus 36C overnight.  We warm up to around minus 7 Sunday
