An unidentified philanthropist has donated $100-million to the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH).
President and CEO Dr. Catherine Zahn says the unprecedented gift helps inject ”wild, wild hope” into the centre’s mission to bring ”justice to people with mental illness.”

Zahn says the largest ever donation to mental health in Canada will go towards a ”Discovery Fund” that’ll help attract experts who will give Canadians ”more reason than ever” to be hopeful their work may lead to the discovery of the ”causes and cures” for mental illness.
In a statement, the anonymous donor has seen the devastating impact on individuals and their families and wants to support research that will transform care.
”I believe CAMH is well-positioned to make a transformational impact in the field of mental health research,” the donor said.
