The results of a six year study indicate reports of elder abuse in long term care homes are on the rise in the GTA and elsewhere in the province.

Data from the long term care facilities themselves show staff and resident abuse has gone up nearly 80 per cent in both the Halton-Mississauga area and in central Toronto.  The data also show resident upon resident violence is also on the rise.
