While many Canadians talk a lot about her father, the former prime minister, Caroline Mulroney has told the annual Manning Networking Conference in Ottawa, it was her mother who taught her about conservatism.

The Ontario PC leadership candidate says mother Mila’s immigrant experience has shaped her own politics and that she sought her advice about the impact of political life on family since both are mothers.
Mulroney says she believes Ontario Tories must be a ”big tent” party where diverse views are welcome and heard.
She also downplayed the fact she is a political rookie, saying voters want something completely different after 15 years of Liberal government.
