The book is a collection of pictures, taken by famed photographer Milton Greene. The pictures were shot between 1953 and 1957.
Monroe and Greene were close friends who met when he photographed her for Look Magazine in 1953. She later moved in with Greene and his family while studying with acting coach Lee Strasberg in New York.
The Essential Marilyn Monroe covers 50 photo sessions and contains 284 images; 154 of which have never been published before.
