The death toll is expected to rise beyond six in a pedestrian bridge collapse at FLorida International University in Miami.
Miami-Dade County Police Chief Juan Perez told reporters this morning it’s now a recovery mission and given the situation still very dangerous for the emergency workers at the site.
The bridge was put in place over the weekend but had not yet opened.  It collapsed yesterday on vehicles that were waiting in traffic underneath.
The $14.2 million bridge was supposed to open in 2019 as a safe way for students to cross the busy eight lane street below.
The Governor of Florida is promising a complete investigation.
