Alberta Premier Rachel Notley says British Columbia’s opposition to the Trans Mountain pipeline – could provoke a Constitutional crisis.
Kinder Morgan announced yesterday that it was scaling back work on the project – because opposition from the B-C government puts it at risk.
Notley told reporters today that the federal government needs to take concrete action to ensure the federally-approved pipeline gets built – and if it allows its authority to be challenged – the reverberations will tear at the fabric of Confederation for many years to come.
She’s also promising to introduce legislation this week – to give Alberta the power to reduce oil flows to B-C, which could send gas prices in the province soaring.
