A Minnesota prosecutor’s announced the state investigation into the death of Prince is closed with no criminal charges.
Carver County attorney Mark Metz says investigators found no evidence of ”any sinister motive,” but that some associates had tried to protect the 57-year-old singer’s privacy.
Metz says the evidence shows Prince thought he was taking Vicodin, not fentanyl, but that there’s no proof any associates knew he possessed any counterfeit pill containing fentanyl.
Prince was found alone and unresponsive in an elevator at his Paisley Park estate April 21, 2016.
