Politicians will tell you they only care about the results on election day, but Doug Ford has to be smiling over the latest Forum Research survey.
(Justin Fauteux)
It shows the Tories with 46 % of decided or leaning voters, compared with 27% for Andrea Horwath’s New Democrats and 21% for Kathleen Wynne’s Liberals.
As for the leaders, Ford and Horwath are tied with an approval rating of 37%, while Wynne’s at 18%.
Pollster Lorne Bozinoff says ”Doug Ford looks on track to be Premier in a few months.”
Translating the support into seats, Forum Research says the Tories would win 94 of 122 legislative seats, putting them in Bozinoff’s words ”super-majority” territory.
The NDP would form the Official Opposition with 23 seats while the Liberals would only have a handful, not enough to keep official party status and the privileges it provides at Queen’s Park.
