We’re slowly learning the names of the van attack victims from family, friends and employers, who share their life stories.

46-year-old Renuka Amarasingha was a single mother of a 7-year-old son and a former adult student with the Toronto District School Board.

She had worked as a nutrition services staff member at several schools since 2015, most recently at nearby Earl Haig Secondary School, where she had just finished her shift before being struck down.

”It is with heavy hearts that we are learning of the death of a TDSB staff member whose life was tragically cut short,” said director of education John Molloy in a statement.
