Saying Ontario is mature enough, Doug Ford’s promising a Tory government would permit beer, wine, cider and coolers to be sold in corner stores as well as in big box retail outlets.
While the Wynne Liberals expanded beer, cider and wine sales to grocery stores, they have not supported expanding beyond those stores.
Ford wants to take it a step further, saying in a post on his Twitter account, ”I believe in doing what’s convenient for the people, not what’s convenient for the government.”
He says he would implement this as soon as possible, allowing any of those outlets to sell the beverages as long as they meet requirements from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.
