A former mayor’s been chosen to decide how best to distribute funds donated to those affected by the deadly van attack on Yonge Street in April.

Barbara Hall has been named administrator of  the #TorontoStrong Fund.

To date, about $3.4-million has been raised.

The fund will continue accepting donations until the end of August.

Hall will then have until the end of September to determine how the funds will be allocated.

After that, the Fund’s volunteer steering committee will offer recommendations for long-term strategies related to the city-wide impact of the tragedy, as well as violence prevention and mental health supports.
