The widow of former Toronto mayor Rob Ford has also been sentenced to three-years probation, fined $1,100, banned from driving for two years and must also perform 100-hours of community service.
Ford was charged in late December 2016, eight months after her husband died of a rare form of cancer.
Her lawyer points out her father and aunt also died that year, adding to pressures his client was facing.
”She lived in a terrible chaotic world … being the spouse of an individual that was targeted by the media for many, many years,” said Dennis Morris.
”It’s no excuse for any action that would be against the betterment of society, but it’s a human action, a human element and she is human.”
