American author Kurt Vonnegut Junior may have said it best in his novel “Timequake.” He wrote, “The plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. When asked if any artists have pulled that off the reply was “The Beatles did.”
That is the meaning and intent of today’s annual “Global Beatles Day;” a love letter from the world to the Beatles.
Global Beatles Day was founded 2009 and honours and celebrates the phenomenon and ideals of the Fab Four. They’re credited with everything from changes in personal expression, to fashion, imagination, sex, and art over the past 50-years.
