No word how many Canadians are affected but Facebook says it recently discovered a security breach involving nearly 50-million accounts.
The company says hackers exploited the ”View As” feature, which allows one to see what their profiles look like to others.
Facebook says it’s taken steps to fix the problem and alerted law enforcement as the investigation continues.
To deal with the breach, Facebook reset some logins as some 90-million have been logged out and will have to log in again.
That includes anyone who’s been subject to a ”View As” lookup in the last year.
CEO Mark Zuckerberg says the company does not yet know who’s behind the attacks nor where they’re based.
He adds there’s nothing to suggest that the hackers used the vulnerability to see users’ private messages or posts, or to post on those accounts.
