After the U.S. Senate voted to end debate and advance Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court nomination by a slim margin of 51-49, it appears he has the votes sit on America’s highest court.
(ABC News)
Republican Senator Steve Daines says he’ll return to Washington by private jet on his daughter’s wedding day Saturday if his vote’s needed to confirm Kavanaugh, but it looks like Daines will be able to stay for the reception.
Fellow Republican Susan Collins says she’ll vote yes tomorrow.
And while Republican Lisa Murkowski, a fiercely independent senator known for bucking her party, is strongly suggesting she’ll vote no, the remaining undecided Democrat Joe Manchin says he will support Kavanaugh’s nomination.
In the event of a draw, Vice-President Mike Pence could break a tie.
