Saying the science is unequivocal, that putting a price on pollution is one of the best ways to move forward, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau unveiled the federal government’s carbon tax scheme that goes into effect in 2019.

Coincidence that he made the announcement at the Humber College campus in the Etobicoke riding of carbon tax opponent Doug Ford?
The premier says no, that the prime minister wants to make it personal but Trudeau says it’s the riding of Science Minister Kirsty Duncan.
Ottawa will slap a tax on fuels in the four provinces with no plan of their own, including Ontario, but send annual rebates to families to offset most of the added costs.
”Here in Ontario, a family of four will get $307 with their tax return this spring.  That amount will more than double to $718 by 2022.  Eight in ten Ontario families will get back more than they pay directly.”
Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer calls the levy a tax plan dressed up as an emissions plan.
”Justin Trudeau unveiled his election gimmick to try and trick Canadians into paying higher taxes on the basic necessities,” said Scheer, who added the Conservatives will soon unveil their carbon plan.
