The east-bound lanes of Highway 407 reopened this morning about 6:00 after a fiery fatal crash closed the highway, between the 400 and Dufferin Street, for more than 12 hours.

OPP Sergeant Kerry Schmidt described it as a devastating crash that occurred after a tanker, hauling flammable cargo, crossed over from the west bound lanes to the east bound side and collided with a car.

The drivers of both vehicles were killed.

The highway needed restructuring and repaving over night.
