Toronto police are hoping the release of surveillance camera footage can help the public identify two men dressed as construction workers, including hard hats, who committed a violent, ”random” robbery of a home in the Yonge-Eglinton Avenue West neighbourhood.
It happened September 27.
Police say the suspects knocked on the front door of a home shortly after 7a.m.
When the 67-year-old homeowner answered, the two men pulled out guns, forced their way inside, tied him up, viciously assaulted him, while ransacking the home and demanding money.
They eventually fled empty-handed.
Surveillance video captured the suspects on both the morning of the robbery and also six days earlier.
That’s when three men posing as construction workers are seen walking along a sidewalk in the neighbourhood before getting into a dark blue or grey, older Nissan Maxima, driven by a fourth person.
