Earlier this week we told you that a pearl and diamond pendent once owned by France’s Queen Marie Antoinette were going to auction.

Last night it sold for $47-million at a Sotheby’s auction in Geneva.

That sets a record for sale price for a pearl.

The jewel hadn’t been seen in public view in some 200 years.
