Ontario’s Conservative government is shrinking the civil service – by offering thousands of non-unionized civil servants exit packages and voluntary buyouts at the start of next year.
The move is part of downsizing efforts – and could affect anywhere between 6,500 and 10,000 workers.
There’s also a time limit for workers to take advantage of these buyouts – starting January first and extending through to the end of February.
