Thornhill’s Milos Raonic has been named Canadian Male Tennis Player of the Year and Male Singles Player of the Year by Tennis Canada.
After being plagued by a host of injuries in 2017, the 27-year old had a strong comeback year in 2018. He reached the final of the Stuttgart tournament and the gold medal Indian Wells test and for the third year in a row was a quarter finalist at Wimbledon.
The other 2018 Awards of Excellence went to Richmond Hill’s Denis Shapovalov as Most Improved Player of the year, Toronto’s Daniel Nestor as Doubles Player of the Year and to Montreal’s Felix Auger-Aliassime as Junior Player of the year.
