A panel of experts on nutrition, agriculture and environment is recommending a radical change in what we eat for the sake of all seven billion earth inhabitants as well as the planet itself.
A report, written by a Swedish based not-profit organization called EAT and published by the British medical journal The Lancet, calls for a drastic reduction in the consumption of red meat and dairy products and a major increase in the consumption of beans and grains.
The report calls for the consumption of no more than one hamburger a week and fewer than four eggs per week and warns that if diets don’t change radically by 2050, it will be impossible to feed the world’s population sustainably .
