Guilty of all charges.
A jury need less than 90-minutes before reaching a verdict in the case of Rehab Dughmosh.
(CTV News)
The Scarborough woman was arrested in July 2017 for allegedly attacking employees of a Canadian Tire store with a golf club and butcher knife in an effort to help ISIS.
Initially facing 21 charges, Dughmosh stood trial on four and was found guilty of all – two counts of assault with a weapon, one of carrying a weapon and one of attempting to go to Syria in 2016.
Dughmosh, who represented herself, did not enter a plea but not-guilty pleas were entered on her behalf.
She also declined making closing statements to the jury.
In its closing arguments, the Crown said an agreed statement of facts presented in court, the only evidence, shows she’s guilty of all charges.
Superior Court Justice Maureen Forestell told the jury when facts are admitted, no further evidence is needed to prove those facts.
