A winter storm is heading our way !
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for much of Southern Ontario including the GTA – and a winter storm watch specifically for Burlington, Oakville, Hamilton, Dunnville, Caledonia, Haldimand, Niagara Falls, Welland, St. Catharines, Grimsby.
The snow will begin Saturday morning and taper off Saturday night.
The latest analysis points to general snowfall amounts between 15 and 25 cms.
5 to 10 cms for Toronto near Lake Ontario – and 2 to 5 north of Highway No. 7.
5 to 10 cms are expected for Oakville and northern parts of Hamilton.
Environment Canada says there’s still much uncertainty about the track of this storm – but regardless of how much snow arrives – there’ll be dramatically cold wind chill values – in the minus 20 to minus 30 range – continuing into Monday morning.
Blowing snow will also be an issue Saturday – with reduced visibility at times.
