Zoomer music legend Robbie Robertson is to receive the Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame’s Lifetime Achievement Award at this year’s Gala awards dinner May 9th in Toronto.
The 75-year old singer, songwriter, was born in Toronto. He was the founding guitarist and main songwriter of “The Band,” toured and recorded with Bob Dylan, released a number of acclaimed solo albums and has written the score for several Martin Scorsese films.
He is a member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the Canadian Music Hall of Fame and Canada’s Walk of Fame. He’s been honored with Lifetime Achievement Award from the Grammys and is a member of the Order of Canada.
