A former senior advisor to US President Donald Trump was arrested by FBI officers early this morning at his home in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Stone has been indicted on charges brought by US Special Counsel Robert Mueller who alleges Stone sought stolen emails from WikiLeaks that would damage Trump’s opponents in the 2016 presidential election.
Specifically Stone is facing seven counts, including one of obstruction of an official proceeding, five counts of false statements and one of witness tampering.
He is to appear before a federal judge in Florida this morning.
