A youth and a 20-year-old man, originally from Syria, have been arrested by the RCMP.

Only one of them, the minor has been charged with terrorism-related offences, including ”knowingly facilitating a terrorist activity” and ”counselling a person to deliver, place, discharge, or detonate an explosive or other lethal device” in a public place.
Authorities say there was no immediate threat to the public because no specific target was identified and there was no timeline in the attack plot.
The Mounties say they could not comment on ”specific ideologies” when asked about a possible motive.
20-year-old Hussam Alzahabi has not been charged.
His family fled from Syria and has been living in Canada since 2017.
The RCMP said it received a ”credible” tip from the FBI late last month that a terrorist attack was being planned, which led to police raids at two Kingston homes Thursday.
