Toronto’s Royal Ontario Museum has hired a curator to manage and interpret the institution’s world-class collection of Japanese art and culture.
Doctor Rosina Buckland becomes the Bishop White Committee Curator of Japanese Art and Culture, responsible for developing and implementing strategy to build and manage what is now the largest collection of its kind in Canada.
Dr. Buckland joins the ROM from the National Museum of Scotland where she was responsible for the institution’s East and Central Asia section.
She hold a doctorate in Art History from the Institute of Fine Arts in New York and has authored a a author of a number of books on Japanese culture.
Dr. Buckland will begin her new role later this year.
