The city of Toronto’s contacted all of the nearly 3,000 registrants and permit holders affected by the recent fire at the Agincourt Community Rec Centre.
(CBC)
They’ve been given relocation options at seven other rec centres and three Toronto District School Board locations in Scarborough.
This includes over 1,800 signed up for aquatic programs and 1,000 registered in skating and active living programs such as visual arts, yoga and guitar.
About 11% have decided to be credited instead of relocating.
Most of the relocated programs are taking place the same day and time as the original ones.
Fitness and swim passes are being honoured at other city rec centres.
The 14 hockey leagues and associations using the Agincourt Community Rec Centre have been accommodated at other Scarborough locations or have used ice time already booked elsewhere.
The centre’s closed until further notice.
Cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
Once that’s complete, planning for repairs and reconstruction will start.
