Believe it or not, it was 25 years ago today we lost one of our great comedic actors with the passing of John Candy.
Candy, who was born in Newmarket, Ontario and got his start with Toronto-based Second City TV.
He went on to a major career in Hollywood, starring in movies like “Splash,” “Uncle Buck,” “Planes, Trains and Automobiles,” “Stripes,” “Home Alone” and Oliver Stone’s “JFK”
Candy died March 4, 1994, after suffering a heart attack while shooting the film “Wagons East” in Durango, Mexico.
He was just 43.
