TRCA WARNS OF FLOODING RISK DUE TO SIGNIFICANT RAINFALL

The Toronto and Region Conservation Authority is warning of the possibility of flooding Sunday with significant rainfall expected.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement with 20 to 40 mm of rain  forecast for the GTA from Sunday into Monday. As a result, all rivers will be experience higher flows and water levels.

Flooding is possible on roadways and in low-lying areas while the combination of slippery and unstable banks could create hazardous conditions close to any river, stream or other water bodies.

The agency warns that all rivers and streams should be considered hazardous and they are urging the public to exercise caution.
