Paul Simon is not going back on his word.
The 77-year-old former Simon & Garfunkel singer has announced he’ll headline Outside Lands Festival in San Francisco this summer, nearly one year after his Homeward Bound Farewell Tour.
All net proceeds from his August 11 performance at Golden Gate Park will go to the San Francisco Parks Alliance and Friends of the Urban Forest.
Simon says he’s ”pleased to be playing in San Francisco with its well-deserved reputation for being in the forefront of environmental issues.”
His decision to perform is technically in line with his retirement last year, when he said he was done touring but not recording or performing live.
