Dean French, the premier’s chief-of-staff alleges soon after Hillier was turfed from the Tory team, he began a libellous and defamatory campaign against him.
French adds accusations, including that he unlawfully ordered the destruction of ballots in last year’s Ontario PC party leadership race, are ”outrageous and completely unsupported”.
Hillier apologized in a social media post, but French says it was inadequate.
Hillier’s lawyer says his client will vigorously defend himself.
