With Father’s Day coming up on Sunday, a survey of more than 700 dads finds while 90 percent think they are doing just fine with their parenting, about half feel they are getting more than their share of criticism.

The study out of the University of Michigan found 52 per cent of fathers have been told they don’t spend enough time with their kids, they’re too rough with them or they don’t pay close enough attention.

Mothers were behind more than 40 per cent of the critiques, grandparents about 25 per cent and about 10 per cent came from public places or through the internet.

The data published in the journal Michigan Medicine shows one in five say the comments made them less motivated to be involved in their children’s lives, but two out of five fathers took the criticism seriously and adjusted their parenting style.
