If there’s anyone who can empathize with Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant, it’s John Tory.

Durant ruptured his Achilles during Monday’s Game 5 of the NBA Finals and underwent successful surgery Wednesday in New York.
Now the Toronto mayor’s revealed that he too has an injured Achilles.
Tory says he injured his about six months ago and that doctors were trying ”every other means of solving the problem,” but have now decided surgery will be needed.

”I was thinking that I am going to have to go down (to New York) and talk to KD (Kevin Durant) and see if I can get the same surgeon and just do a two-for-one deal,” said Tory.
”I figure any doctor that fixed his Achilles tendon would be the right doctor to go to and that is no offence to our doctors here,” the mayor added.
Durant’s expected to miss the entire 2019-20 NBA season.
Keeping in mind Durant’s is more physically demanding, Tory’s expected to be back at work a day or two following surgery.
