Amid falling poll numbers, a departed chief of staff, appointments to lucrative foreign positions that have been made and then hastily cancelled, Premier Doug Ford is returning to the safety of his supporters.
Saturday is his annual Ford Fest barbeque where supporters gather for free food and entertainment.
It’s traditionally held at the Ford family home in Etobicoke. This year, the event is being held at the Markham Fairgrounds. For the first time, those hoping to attend will need to get tickets. The event is still free.
The event gets underway at 5 p.m.
